چکیده

The strongly coupled nonlinear Schr odinger equations are studied numerically to gain insight into an increasingly complex family of collision interactions. Speci cally, the case of apparent repulsion between soliton solutions are considered in terms of phase velocity, relative shift, and apparent trajectory. Both elastic and inelastic collisions are discussed. −→∞ ∞←− anisotropic e ects on poroacoustic waves Brian Straughan Durham University, England [email protected] Nonlinear acceleration waves are considered in porous media. Our goal is to assess the e ect of anisotropy on poroacoustic waves. We show anisotropy may have a pronounced e ect on sound attenuation. We consider this aspect in the case of "designer" porous materials which are being produced with regard to sound and heat insulation.

Some traveling wave solutions of soliton family

Solitons are ubiquitous and exist in almost every area from sky to bottom. For solitons to appear, the relevant equation of motion must be nonlinear. In the present study, we deal with the Korteweg-deVries (KdV), Modied Korteweg-de Vries (mKdV) and Regularised LongWave (RLW) equations using Homotopy Perturbation method (HPM). The algorithm makes use of the HPM to determine the initial expansion...

Ultra- Relativistic Solitons with Opposing Behaviors in Photon Gas Plasma

We have studied the formation of relativistic solitary waves due to nonlinearinteraction of strong electromagnetic wave with the plasma wave. Here, our plasma isrelativistic both in temperature and in streaming speed. A set of equations consisting ofscalar and vector potentials together with a third order equation for the enthalpy inphoton gas plasma is obtained analytic...

Envelope solitons on two-dimensional lattices with in–plane displacements

We investigate envelope solitary waves on square with two degrees of freedom and nonlinear nearest and next-nearest neighbor interactions. We consider solitary waves which are localized in the direction of their motion and periodically modulated along the perpendicular direction. In the quasi– monochromatic approximation and low–amplitude limit a system of two coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equa...

Dark Optical Solitons: Physics and Applications

We present a detailed overview of the physics and applications of optical dark solitons: localized nonlinear waves (or ‘holes’) existing on a stable continuous wave (or extended finite-width) background. Together with the traditional problems involving properties of dark solitons of the defocusing cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation, we also describe recent theoretical results on optical vorte...
